Biomedicine and Chemical Sciences (BCS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate action in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Corrections may be issued when a published article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the work. Such corrections may include errors in author information, affiliations, figures, tables, references, or other factual details.
The correction will be linked to the original article and made freely accessible to readers.
A published article may be retracted when there is clear evidence of:
Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
Data fabrication or falsification.
Unethical research practices.
Major errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.
Serious breaches of publication ethics.
Retraction notices will clearly identify the retracted article and state the reasons for retraction. The original article will remain available as part of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted.
In cases where an investigation is ongoing and conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers of potential issues associated with the article.
All correction, retraction, and post-publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board and, where appropriate, relevant institutions or stakeholders.
BCS is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record and ensuring transparency in the correction of published research.
