Biomedicine and Chemical Sciences (BCS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff, are expected to uphold the principles of honesty, integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

  • Submitted manuscripts are original and have not been published elsewhere.

  • Manuscripts are not under consideration by another journal simultaneously.

  • All authors have made significant contributions to the work and have approved the final version of the manuscript.

  • Sources of funding and conflicts of interest are properly disclosed.

  • Data presented in the manuscript are accurate and have not been fabricated, falsified, or manipulated.

  • Appropriate ethical approval and informed consent have been obtained where required.

Authors must promptly notify the journal if a significant error is identified in their published work.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment.

  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

  • Refrain from using unpublished information for personal advantage.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based on the scientific merit and relevance of manuscripts.

  • Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and confidential peer-review process.

  • Maintaining editorial independence and integrity.

  • Avoiding conflicts of interest in editorial decisions.

  • Taking appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct are suspected.

Publication Misconduct

BCS does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism

  • Duplicate or redundant publication

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Citation manipulation

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Authorship manipulation

  • Ethical violations involving human or animal research

Any allegations of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with established ethical guidelines and may result in manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, or notification of relevant institutions.

Corrections and Retractions

When errors, ethical concerns, or scientific misconduct are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with recognized ethical standards and applicable regulations. Authors may be required to provide evidence of ethical approval and informed consent during the review process.

Complaints and Appeals
